What background was most represented in Louisville Municipal School District schools in 2021-22 school year?

Black students made up 63.1% of the 2,625 students enrolled in Louisville Municipal School District schools during the 2021-22 school year, making them the most represented ethnicity, according to the Mississippi Department of Education.

This is a 2.7% decrease from the previous school year.

Nanih Waiya Attendance Center had the highest enrollment in the district with 562 students.

A snapshot of Louisville Municipal School District schools showed 63.1% of students were Black, 31.6% were white, 2.3% were multiracial, and 0.9% American Indian.

Louisville Municipal School District roughly covers six schools within Winston County and has a main office in Louisville.

Mississippi has continually struggled with public education. The most recent Report Card on American Education, from a right-leaning think tank, gave the state a C-. This is consistent with ratings stretching back nearly a decade.

The nonpartisan Education Week also ranked Mississippi schools as C- in their most recent analysis.
