50.2% of students in Clarke County are Male in 2021-2022 school year

Of the 2,528 students in Clarke County schools, 50.2% were men and 49.8% were women, according to the Mississippi Department of Education.

The previous year, the student body across Clarke County schools was 53.6% men and 46.4% women.

Quitman High School in Quitman had the highest number of boy and girl students.

There are seven schools within Clarke County.

Mississippi has continually struggled with public education. The most recent Report Card on American Education, from a right-leaning think tank, gave the state a C-. This is consistent with ratings stretching back nearly one decade.

The nonpartisan Education Week also ranked Mississippi schools as C- in their most recent analysis.
