What background was most represented in Winston County schools in 2021-2022 school year?

Of the 2,625 students enrolled in Winston County schools in 2021-2022, 37.8% were White, according to the Mississippi Department of Education. This was the most represented ethnicity among Winston County students.

This is a 6.7% increase over the previous school year.

Nanih Waiya Attendance Center had the highest enrollment of White students in the 2021-2022 school year.

A snapshot of Winston County schools showed 37.8% students were White.

There are six schools in Winston County.

Mississippi has continually struggled with public education. The most recent Report Card on American Education, from a right-leaning think tank, gave the state a C-. This is consistent with ratings stretching back nearly one decade.

The nonpartisan Education Week also ranked Mississippi schools as C- in their most recent analysis.
