White had the largest percent of student body in Clarke County schools in 2019-2020 school year

Of the 2,681 students enrolled in Clarke County schools in 2019-2020, 58.7% were White, according to the Mississippi Department of Education. This was the most represented ethnicity among Clarke County students.

This is a 0.1% decrease from the previous school year.

Enterprise Elementary School had the highest enrollment of White students in the 2019-2020 school year.

A snapshot of Clarke County schools showed 58.7% students were White and 39.3% were Black or African American.

There are seven schools in Clarke County.

Mississippi has continually struggled with public education. The most recent Report Card on American Education, from a right-leaning think tank, gave the state a C-. This is consistent with ratings stretching back nearly one decade.

The nonpartisan Education Week also ranked Mississippi schools as C- in their most recent analysis.
