What background was most represented in Noxubee County schools in 2019-2020 school year?

Of the 1,458 students enrolled in Noxubee County schools in 2019-2020, 96.2% were Black or African American, according to the Mississippi Department of Education. This was the most represented ethnicity among Noxubee County students.

This is a 0.3% decrease from the previous school year.

Earl Nash Elementary School had the highest enrollment of Black or African American students in the 2019-2020 school year.

A snapshot of Noxubee County schools showed 96.2% students were Black or African American and 1.4% were Hispanic or Latino.

There are three schools in Noxubee County.

Mississippi has continually struggled with public education. The most recent Report Card on American Education, from a right-leaning think tank, gave the state a C-. This is consistent with ratings stretching back nearly one decade.

The nonpartisan Education Week also ranked Mississippi schools as C- in their most recent analysis.
