Black had the largest percent of student body in Noxubee County School District schools in 2021-22 school year

Black students made up 96.5% of the 1,391 students enrolled in Noxubee County School District schools during the 2021-22 school year, making them the most represented ethnicity, according to the Mississippi Department of Education.

This is a 1.2% decrease from the previous school year.

Earl Nash Elementary School had the highest enrollment in the district with 636 students.

A snapshot of Noxubee County School District schools showed 96.5% of students were Black and 1.1% Hispanic.

Noxubee County School District roughly covers three schools within Noxubee County and has a main office in Macon.

Mississippi has continually struggled with public education. The most recent Report Card on American Education, from a right-leaning think tank, gave the state a C-. This is consistent with ratings stretching back nearly a decade.

The nonpartisan Education Week also ranked Mississippi schools as C- in their most recent analysis.
