Enrollment by Ethnicity: White was most represented background in Neshoba County School District schools in 2021-22 school year

White students made up 61.5% of the 3,091 students enrolled in Neshoba County School District schools during the 2021-22 school year, making them the most represented ethnicity, according to the Mississippi Department of Education.

This is a three% increase over the previous school year.

Neshoba Central Elementary School had the highest enrollment in the district with 1,346 students.

A snapshot of Neshoba County School District schools showed 61.5% of students were white, 18.3% were Black, 10.3% were American Indian, and 8.5% multiracial.

Neshoba County School District roughly covers three schools within Neshoba County and has a main office in Philadelphia.

Mississippi has continually struggled with public education. The most recent Report Card on American Education, from a right-leaning think tank, gave the state a C-. This is consistent with ratings stretching back nearly a decade.

The nonpartisan Education Week also ranked Mississippi schools as C- in their most recent analysis.
