What background was most represented in Noxubee County schools in 2020-2021 school year?

Of the 1,413 students enrolled in Noxubee County schools in 2020-2021, 96.2% were Black or African American, according to the Mississippi Department of Education. This was the most represented ethnicity among Noxubee County students.

This is unchanged from the previous school year.

Earl Nash Elementary School had the highest enrollment of Black or African American students in the 2020-2021 school year.

A snapshot of Noxubee County schools showed 96.2% students were Black or African American and 1.3% were Hispanic or Latino.

There are three schools in Noxubee County.

Mississippi has continually struggled with public education. The most recent Report Card on American Education, from a right-leaning think tank, gave the state a C-. This is consistent with ratings stretching back nearly one decade.

The nonpartisan Education Week also ranked Mississippi schools as C- in their most recent analysis.
