Beets are a great winter vegetable that is cheap and easy to find in grocery stores, both canned and fresh. Beets come in a variety of colors, and you can also eat the leaves. Red and Purple beets are high in the antioxidant betalian which helps prevent certain cancers.
Canned beets can be an easy addition to a meal. They can be sliced thinly and added to salads or blended and added to hummus for an easy nutrient and color boost. In the oven, fresh beets can be roasted like other root vegetables, or they can again be sliced thinly and baked into crispy chips.
Walk
Walking can be a great time to enhance your knowledge. You could listen to an informative podcast on a subject you are interested in or listen to an audiobook. Both fiction and nonfiction content are beneficial as they stimulate brain activity, enhancing overall brain health.
