Nourish
Green beans are another common vegetable seen on holiday tables. Typically, they are consumed boiled or found in green bean casserole. Although green beans may not be in season during the winter, making fresh green beans difficult to find in some grocery stores, frozen or canned green beans are an excellent option.
When buying canned, be sure to purchase low sodium or no salt added green beans. If those options aren’t available, drain and rinse canned green beans to remove some of the sodium.
One cup of green beans has one-third of your daily recommended intake of folate. Folate is a B vitamin that is necessary for the growth and development of unborn babies. Folate also helps to reduce the risk of certain birth defects.

Walk
If you are walking outside, a great thing you can do is learn more about your surroundings. Take note of the birds you see and learn to identify them. If you are in a more urban setting, you can take notice of any historical markers or statues you see. Learning more about your community and its history can be fun. Also, exercising your mind while you exercise your body is a great way to practice general wellness. Share pictures in the comments!
