Carson Ward has been crowned Miss Jasper County Hospitality for 2022, and Kendry James has been crowned Little Miss Jasper County Hospitality.
Ward will compete at the Mississippi Miss Hospitality pageant in July, with James attending pageant events.
The Mississippi Miss Hospitality competition revolves greatly around the state’s tourism and economic development venue. It was established in 1949 under Governor Fielding Wright and the Mississippi Legislature. Its goal is to help highlight state tourism and economic development, while also involving numbers of bright, young women ages 18-to-24 throughout the state with a scholarship program.
Miss Jasper County Hospitality Carson Ward graduated as Valedictorian and a Mississippi Scholar from Sylva-Bay Academy in 2021. While at Sylva-Bay, she served as Student Body President, and was also selected as an FCA Breakfast of Champions. She was an attendee of the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership Conference, and she was selected the 2020 SBA Homecoming Queen. In addition, she was crowned 2019 and 2021 Most Beautiful at Sylva-Bay, and she was the recipient of the Citizenship Award multiple years. She was a SBA Saints cheerleader from fourth through twelfth grade, and was a member of the Lady Saints basketball team, track team, cross country team and tennis team. She also at Sylva-Bay Academy was a member of Future Business Leaders of America, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Student Government, Mu Alpha Theta, and Honor Society.
Ward currently attends Pearl River Community College on an academic scholarship, where she is a member of the 2022 UCA National Championship Wildcat cheer team. During her first semester at PRCC, Ward was invited to be a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. She was also named to the PRCC President’s List for the Fall 2021 semester.
Ward is the daughter of Chip and Melissa Ward of Montrose. She is the granddaughter of Roy and Sherry Spradley of Moss, George and Rosemond Ward of Louin, and Sonny and Carol Spradley of Stringer. She is a member of Montrose Methodist Church.
Ward enjoys meeting new people and being in the outdoors. She also enjoys working out and going to the beach.
Little Miss Jasper County Hospitality Kendry Jude James is 6-years-old and is in first grade at Stringer Attendance Center. She is the daughter of Kody and Tayler James. She is a member of Highland Church.
James enjoys cheering for the Stringer Youth League, taking gymnastics, and playing softball. In her free time, she loves to watch “iCarly” and help with her three younger brothers.
