What background was most represented in Union Public School District schools in 2021-22 school year?

White students made up 71.8% of the 932 students enrolled in Union Public School District schools during the 2021-22 school year, making them the most represented ethnicity, according to the Mississippi Department of Education.

This is a 1.6% decrease from the previous school year.

Union Elementary School had the highest enrollment in the district with 379 students.

A snapshot of Union Public School District schools showed 71.8% of students were white and 24.1% Black.

Union Public School District roughly covers three schools and has a main office in Union.

Mississippi has continually struggled with public education. The most recent Report Card on American Education, from a right-leaning think tank, gave the state a C-. This is consistent with ratings stretching back nearly a decade.

The nonpartisan Education Week also ranked Mississippi schools as C- in their most recent analysis.
